HTC Announces Its Newest Smartphone, HTC Explorer
Bigadgets: HTC Explorer Specification And Price
HTC officially announced their newest Android smartphone, HTC Explorer, just after they release HTC Rhyme this month. This handset touted to carry on HTC’s dominance to the budget end of the Android segment, which aims to satisfy your smartphone needs with less than stellar specifications and a very affordable price. The phone, previously known as the HTC Pico, was confirmed by online retailer Clove and Pocket Now. It’s expected that this handset won’t come to US, but at this point official availability will only extend to Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East from early October.
HTC Explorer features an Android 2.3 smartphone, with a 3.2-inch HVGA (480 x 320) capacitive display, a 3-megapixel camera on the back, a 600 MHz CPU processor and 512 MB of memory which can be further expanded via memory cards. This handest also equipped with a HSPA 7.2 Mbps, Wi-Fi, GPS, a 1230mAh battery, and a data control app for easy management of your mobile internet usage. HTC Explorer will be avaliable in three colors: metallic black, active black and metallic navy.
HTC told that the price would be “somewhere below” that of the $290 Wildfire S and with a relatively limited spec sheet we’d imagine this phone could even hover around the £100-£120 ($160-$190)mark. So there’s a big chance the Explorer head-to-head with Huawei’s latest bargain offering, the Ideos X3 (aka Blaze), which is officially priced at under £100 ($160) in the UK – for the Blaze has a very similar specification with the HTC Explorer.
