Rapid technological developments often make the price of an increasingly affordable electronic products, is no exception for Digital Cameras and DSLR. But in general the price of digital SLR camera lenses tend to be stable and even increased, as did Canon recently.

Effective start date of July 25, 2011 Canon will announce price increases for L Series lenses below (many of which have not come out except for the 800mm range):

* EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM lens to i $1499.00
* EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens to $7299.00
* EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens to $11.499.00
* EF 500mm f/4L IS II USM lens to $10.499.00
* EF 600mm f/4L IS II USM lens to $12.999.00
* EF 800mm f/5.6L IS USM lens to $13.999.00

The price increase in question is a price increase than previously announced, this could be a good sign when all these lenses will be available in the near future. Canon’s hope there are no plans to raise the price of the other L Series lenses.
